Joseph Francis Cleary, Jr. of Centennial, CO whose heart and soul was raised in Vail, CO passed away Sunday in a car accident.
Joey, as he was known to friends and family, AKA Joey Bag o Doughnuts was a Senior at Regis Jesuit High School where he thrived in his faith, friendships and love.
Joey was a Varsity Letterman in Lacrosse for three years where he found his home at the faceoff X. A fitting position for this beauty he enjoyed chucking rusty gates with the lettuce on flow in the back and max tilt up front! You couldn’t call it a rip but he managed to find the back of the cage once in a while.
Joey’s true passion resided in the mountains of Colorado. Raised in Vail he was a competitive mogul skier with the Ski and Snowboard Club Vail. He loved to ski and could be found huckin’ backys off a booter on a bluebird or sending rocks on a blower!
He sucked at golf but still loved to play and certainly entertained his entire foursome.
Joey was born on November 8, 2005 to parents Joe & Elena Cleary. He was joined by his sister Alexandra Cleary in 2008 and was a fierce brother and exceptionally loving and forever giving son.
Joey is survived by his mother and father Joe and Elena Cleary, sister Alexandra Cleary, cousins Colin, Danny, Finn Cleary, Nastia, Annya and Misha Bandukin, Aunts Stacy Cleary, Marina and Oksana Bandurkin, Uncles Chip Cleary and Lesha Bandurkin, Grandparents Nikolay and Galina Bandurkin, Debbie and Drew Jaggers, Dan and Diane Cleary, and Great Aunt Mary Cleary as well as everyone whose life he touched because he loved you all.
He burned bright and fast and touched us all while he was here so please come and say goodbye.
There will be a viewing on Sunday, September 24 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Horan & McConaty located at 5303 East County Line Road, Centennial, CO 80122 that is open to the public.
