Joseph Cussen Obituary
Brother Cussen entered the Congregation of Christian Brothers on August 13, 1954 and professed his final vows on June 27, 1961.
Brother's ministry took him to several schools including, St. Cecilia's Grammar School, Bergen Catholic High School, Rice High School, and Iona University, where he taught for over a twenty five year period. Brother was most recently a member of the Brothers' community at St. Joseph's Residence, New Rochelle.
Brother Cussen was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Pauline Cussen. He is survived by his brothers Patrick, Albert, Anthony, John, Robert.
The family and the Christian Brothers will receive friends at the Graham Funeral Home on Friday, December 5, from 4 PM to 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, New Rochelle, NY, on Saturday, December 6, at 9:30 AM.
Interment will be at the Christian Brothers' Cemetery in West Park, NY. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Br. Cussen's memory to St. Joseph's Residence, 30 Montgomery Circle, New Rochelle, NY, 10804.

I knew Brother Cussen when he was the Director of the Iona College Language Contest for high school students . I brought my Russian & German students to the contest he ran every year along with other language students from my high school for many, many years , starting in the 1970´s!!! It was always very nice to see Brother Cussen at the Contest each year & my students enjoyed participating in it - We stayed in touch even after the Contest stopped & exchanged Xmas. cards up to last year! You were a very caring & nice person & always asked about me & my family too . It was a honor & pleasure to have known you all these years & you were a very good teacher & educator .
