Br. Joseph Albert Cussen CFC

Brother Joseph Albert Cussen CFC passed away on December 1, 2025 at the age of 90. Brother Cussen was born on October 16, 1935, the son of Joseph and Pauline Cussen. Brother attended Cardinal Farley Military Academy in Rhinecliff, Iona University, majoring in Spanish and St. John's University where he received his MA in Religious Studies.
Brother Cussen entered the Congregation of Christian Brothers on August 13, 1954 and professed his final vows on June 27, 1961.
Brother's ministry took him to several schools including, St. Cecilia's Grammar School, Bergen Catholic High School, Rice High School, and Iona University, where he taught for over a twenty five year period. Brother was most recently a member of the Brothers' community at St. Joseph's Residence, New Rochelle.
Brother Cussen was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Pauline Cussen. He is survived by his brothers Patrick, Albert, Anthony, John, Robert.
The family and the Christian Brothers will receive friends at the Graham Funeral Home on Friday, December 5, from 4 PM to 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, New Rochelle, NY, on Saturday, December 6, at 9:30 AM.
Interment will be at the Christian Brothers' Cemetery in West Park, NY. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Br. Cussen's memory to St. Joseph's Residence, 30 Montgomery Circle, New Rochelle, NY, 10804.
