Joseph W. Davis, age 93, of Erie passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. He was born in Bristol, West Virginia on April 12, 1932, a son of the late Ulyess S. Davis and Irene L. (Lunsford) Davis Shaw.
Joe served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. After the war he moved to Erie and for 35 years worked for Erie Airways. He retired from Erie Airways in 1993 as the Vice President Director of Maintenance.
In his free time Joe enjoyed sailing, aviation, and square dancing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Mildred (Griffith) Davis, his twin brother John Davis and brother Gerald "Arden" Davis.
Joe is survived by his children Joseph M. Davis, Gregory A. Davis, Sherry A. Scott and Shelly L. Pollack, husband John; grandchildren Erin Hill, husband Chris, Mark Walsh, Jessica Pollack, and Nicholas Pollack; four great grandchildren and one on the way. He is also survived by a sister-in-law Helen Davis and many nieces and nephews.
Private services were handled by the Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street.
