Mr. Joseph L. DiMaggio, Jr., 60, of Albany, NY, passed away at home on July 15th, 2025.
Joe was born in Amsterdam, NY on June 20, 1965, the son of Joseph L. DiMaggio, Sr. and Marlene Mary Safford DiMaggio.
He attended Canajoharie High School and later obtained his GED in 1985.
He was employed as an electrician by trade, but held various jobs over the years, including construction and manufacturing.
Most recently, he was living in Albany, NY, but had spent a good part of his life in Canajoharie, NY.
In his free time, he loved to go skiing, camping, hiking, and spent countless hours exploring the great outdoors. He will be remembered for his love of music, his adventurous spirit, and as a kind and gentle soul who will be missed.
Survivors include his sister, Valerie, and her husband Clifford Montanye, brother Alan DiMaggio, and Nancy Shepard; nephews Clifford Montanye and his wife Emily, Ryan DiMaggio, Alex DiMaggio, Evan DiMaggio; and several cousins.
The family wishes to thank the medical staff and their entire support team at the Albany VA Medical Center for their care, kindness, and dedication they extended over the years.
A Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 30th, 2025, at 9:00 AM at Canajoharie Falls Cemetery for close family and friends, with the US Navy performing military honors.
