Joseph Norman Dowda, 78, of Carrollton, GA passed away on March 3, 2026. He was born March 5, 1947, in Atlanta, GA to the late Robert Cooper Dowda and Effie Mae (Newton) Dowda.
Joe graduated from Jonesboro high school, Class of 1965.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Dowda and sister, Ellen Sisson; his wife, Bernice Dowda; daughters, Cathy Thompson and Debbie Shipp; granddaughter ,Courtney Shipp. All of whom he loved deeply and now joins them in eternal rest.
Joe is survived by his sons, Mike Dowda and wife, Lorri Dowda, Wesley Dowda and wife, Deborah Dowda, Greg Welch and wife, Wendy Welch, Charles Welch, and Rick McCuiston and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He will be greatly missed.
