Joseph Dvorachek Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory - Manitowoc on Oct. 8, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Joseph J. Dvorachek, age 80, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life while surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at Froedtert Holy Family Memorial Hospital.

Joe was born on May 20, 1945 to the late Joseph and Mary (Berger) Dvorachek. He graduated from Reedsville High School with the class of 1963. On October 14, 1967, Joe married his sweetheart, Ann Kohl at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Manitowoc. In 1968, Joe enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Maryland. After his honorable discharge in 1970, he was employed for many years as an Industrial Engineer and later started a business with his partner, Bob Becker.

Joe was a longtime member of St. Boniface, and later St. Francis of Assisi Parish. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus in both Reedsville and Manitowoc where he held the positions of Grand Knight and District Deputy. After retirement, Joe enjoyed volunteering at Holy Family Memorial where he knew many of the staff by name. Despite being very busy with volunteering, he always found time to attend his granddaughters' ballgames where he was their biggest cheerleader and fan. Joe was also a Green Bay Packers, NASCAR, and Indy Car fan. He also enjoyed Lake Michigan fishing, playing sheepshead, watching planes and trains, and listening to Polka music. Joe was an avid bowler where he attended many state and national tournaments. He will always be remembered as a very devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Survivors include Joe's wife of 58 years, Ann; three sons, Mark (Heidi), Jeff (Tammi), and Joe Jr.; four granddaughters, Catie, Mackenzie, Lindsay, and Lily; two sisters, Ann O'Hearn, Green Bay, and Catherine Vandenhouten, Manitowoc; sister-in-law, Mary Kohl, Sheboygan; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and lifelong friends. Joe was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Dvorachek; mother and stepfather, Mary (Frank) Svatek; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Reinhold and Elvera Kohl; brother, Bernard (Rose Jean); and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, George O'Hearn, Ronald Vandenhouten, William (Dorothy) Kohl, and JR Kohl.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo, 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Arogya Prashanth Gade. Military honors will then be accorded by Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 731 outside of church immediately following the funeral service. A dinner for family and friends will then be held at City Limits. Committal services will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 17, 2025 at Knollwood Mausoleum Chapel. The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo on Thursday, October 16, 2025 from 1 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com
