I met Joe in JFK middle school and I embraced him with open arms, he started sitting at our table after and Joe become a close friend. He actually started dancing at that time and he loved it, everyone yelling his name go Joe....go Joe...so we started calling him Joe boogie, my love and condolences go out to his family and love ones. Truly one of a kind person. Love ya man and keep a spot for me up in heaven cause I want a dance battle rematch brother RIP

My life was forever changed when I got to meet and get to know Joe over the last few years. There was something special I was able to identify, and that was Joe´s compassion and everlasting devotion to making a difference in the world. Joe had a way with words, in which he called his "puns". I think back to all of the memories we had, but also the mountains Joe was able to climb. Heaven gained someone special, and I know Joe will dance away. I will never forget my art lesson from Joe, he always believed the body- "movement of the hand" had something special to tell. No Pinterest inspirations when Joe was around!
Joe,
I hope you paint all the pictures, dance to all the fun songs, and tell all of your funny jokes in heaven. I am honored to have known you.
