Joseph F. Sprence

Joseph F. Sprence, 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 21, 2025 in TownView Health and Rehabilitation Center, Canonsburg. He was born on February 26, 1932 in Muse, a son of the late Stephen and Margaret Drotos Sprence. Joe was raised in Muse and was a faithful member of Holy Rosary Church of St. Oscar Romero Parish. He rarely missed a Friday for his fish sandwich and a beer at the Muse Independent Club. He attended the Cecil School District before proudly serving in the United States Marine Corps, earning many medals including the USMC Badge and the Korean Service Medal. Prior to his retirement Joe was a laborer in construction, being employed for the Dick Corporation for many years. He enjoyed hunting and loved to go to the Eighty-Four Livestock Auction. He loved animals, especially dogs, and cherished vacations in Ocean City where he once saved a woman from drowning. He loved working in the yard and helping his daughter and son-in-law restore their mid-century modern home. On May 29, 1965 he married Pauline Ann Klamut who survives after 60 years of marriage. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his adored daughter, Kim Boyd and her husband, David and his beloved grandson Matthew Louis Boyd; a niece Dana (Fred) Eggers; and a nephew John Klamut. Joseph was the last of his immediate family. Deceased in addition to his parents are his brothers Steve Sprence, Lou and John Molinko and his sister Betty Dukis. At Mr. Sprence's request, private family visitation and Catholic Blessing services will be held at Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services, Inc. Joseph P.
