Joseph "Joey" Wayne Fuselier was born on November 13, 1962 to Elvin and Sandra Ann Fuselier at Doctor's hospital in Groves Texas.

He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur in 1981, then attended the pipefitter's local 195 apprenticeship program where he graduated on March 26, 1987.

He was a union pipefitter working alongside his father, brother, nephew and cousin. He worked his way up through the years to be in supervision. He was able to teach many apprentices throughout the years. He was well respected and one of the best in his trade.

Joey loved fishing, camping, gardening, and most of all spending time with his wife, kids, and grandkids. He never met a stranger, always went out of his way to help those in need, and loved to laugh. He also enjoyed watching The Dallas cowboys and picking on his Kansas City Chief friends.

So many will miss driving by our house seeing him sitting on the front porch with a cup of coffee watching our dog and working in our yard while wearing his classic bandanas.

Joey was blessed with four children, three sons-in-law who he considered sons, and four grandchildren. He loved telling people that he had three daughters, one son, three granddaughters, and one grandson. He loved to tell his son, "you are my favorite son-shine," and his grandson, "you are my favorite grandson." But the truth is, they were all his favorite.

He was preceded in death by his father, Elvin R. Fuselier, and his brother Elvin "Ray" Fuselier Jr, and his sister-in-law Ruby "Bea" Fuselier.

He is survived by his wife, Donnakay Fuselier, and daughters and sons-in-law, Amber Harwood and Carey, Kandace Rash and William, Jessica Tallant and Erick Jr., and his son, Jacob Fuselier. Grandchildren Brooke and Bailey Harwood, and Elliot and Lucy Rash. His mother, Sandra Ann Howard; his sister, Melanie Howard and Steve; his brother, Josh Fuselier and Katie, and his sister, Katina Fuselier. And many nieces and nephews who he loved and adored.

What a gift Joey was to all of us. He had an ease about him and was so likeable. He took great care of his family; he was particularly fond of his wife, Donnakay, his children and grandchildren. The love he had for his family extended to others around him. He was quick to lend a helping hand or find solutions to any problems. I particularly enjoyed our banter about spicy food and hot peppers. He is sorely missed. May he rest in peace and may his memory be a blessing.
