Joseph C. Gauthier, fondly known as Joe, was born on November 20, 1961, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, in Belle Chasse, Louisiana, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication.
For the past nine years, Joe devoted himself to his work at ACE Hardware “Jeanfreau’s” in Belle Chasse, demonstrating his strong work ethic and commitment to service. His coworkers and customers alike appreciated his craftsmanship and friendly demeanor, attributes that made him a beloved figure in the community.
Joe is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Gauthier Croft (Michael); grandson, Michael “ Mikey” Francis Croft. sister, Donna DiFulco (Anthony Sr); brother, Giancarlo Campi (Charlotte); and sister, Gerianne Gauthier; He is also remembered by a host of nieces and nephews, along with family and friends who were touched by his kindness and generosity.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gail Daigle Gauthier, and stepfather, Stewart “Doug” Gauthier.
One of Joe's greatest joys in life was becoming a "Poppie" to his grandson, Mikey. The bond they shared brought him immense happiness and created cherished memories that will be forever treasured by his family. In addition to being a dedicated grandfather, Joe had varied interests; he enjoyed fishing and relished the moments spent with his family and friends, highlighting his love for connection and the outdoors.
Visitation will be held on January 10, 2026, at Marrero - Mothe Funeral Homes, LLC, located at 7040 Lapalco Blvd, Marrero, LA 70072, from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM, followed by a Mass from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM. Interment will be private and at a later date.
Joseph C. Gauthier will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his dedication to his work, and the joy he brought to all who knew him. He leaves a lasting impact on the hearts of many and will be dearly missed.
