Joseph Louis Germond IV

Joseph (aka JG4 and Joe 4), age 58, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. He was a true New Orleans boy who enjoyed watching Saints football and eating his favorite poboy-a hot sausage on french bread, fully dressed, add pickles and onions. While not much into reading novels, Joseph was enthusiastic about comic books. He also freely read articles and researched topics online. Joseph had a lifelong appreciation for art and technology. His affection for '80s music came at the cost of his wife Amanda's annoyance (wink wink). Joseph invested his time mentoring young men, both coworkers and fellow gamers, pouring wisdom and humor into their lives that he had not received in his own younger years. Joseph lived out his faith and broke the cycle of dysfunction to become an amazing husband and father. One of Amanda's fondest memories was Joseph's reaction at the gender reveal of their daughter; he was insufferably 'smug' because he just KNEW they were having a girl, and that he was right. Joseph always recognized and appreciated everyone who ever showed up and stuck by his side when he needed them; from the tragic loss of his mother and later his middle sister in his childhood, through his adult journey with back-injuries, cancer, and beyond. Joseph was a deeply devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, co-worker, and friend who is already dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Amanda Tate Germond; daughter, Jubilee Faith Germond; sister, Geralyn Germond; grown niece, Candice Dusset; in-laws, Terry and Lynn Tate, Sarah and Brandon Watson, Joshua and Callie Tate, one young niece and five young nephews; and his four-legged daughter, rescue pup Pippy. Joseph was preceded in death by his mother, Marie Bordenave Germond; father, Joseph Louis Felix Germond Jr.; sister, Annmarie Germond Boswell; grandparents, several aunts, uncles, and cousins; his four-legged daughter, Charlene; and two four-legged sons, Hans and Max. DENHAM SPRINGS, LA. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Visitation at Northside Baptist Church, 200 Cockerham Rd., Denham Springs on Friday, August 1, 2025 starting at 10:00 a.m., with the start of the Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. A Fellowship Lunch will immediately follow the Service until 1:00 p.m. Guests are encouraged to wear blue since that was Joe's favorite color.
