Mr. Joseph L. Gillikin

Joseph L. Gillikin age 80 years of Gibbstown passed away on Monday November 18, 2024 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Morehead City, North Carolina and moved to Paulsboro when he was nine years old. Mr. Gillikin was a graduate of Paulsboro High School class of 1963 and then earned his associates degree from Temple University and Pierce Business College. He was a veteran serving in the Army National Guard. Mr. Gillikin retired after 35 years of service as a lab technician with Huntsman Polypropylene Co. (formerly Shell Chemical Co.) He was a member of the Racoon Creek Boat Club and enjoyed cars, hunting and fly fishing.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Sherry Gillikin (nee Tomlin) of Gibbstown; his sons, Randy and Gabrielle Gillikin of Woodbury and Ryan and Megan Gillikin of Gibbstown; his grandchildren, Josephine, Emma, Ryan and Christopher; his sister, Linda and Tom Patton of Florida; his best friend, Larry and Stephanie Ness of Washington Township and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Gillikin was predeceased by his mother, Earldean Gillikin; his brothers, Ross, Luther, E.P. and Hubert and his sisters, Esther, Golda and Janice.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM Monday November 25, 2024 in the McBride – Foley Funeral Home, 228 West Broad St., Paulsboro. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Monday morning after 9:30 AM until service time. Inurnment private.
