Joseph Harper, 82, passed away on Thursday September 25, 2025, at Woodside Village in Mt. Gilead. Joseph was born May 6, 1943, in Columbus, Ohio to the late Joseph Edward Harper and Florence Josephine (Stiffler) Harper. He was also preceded in death by wife Paula (Stein) Harper September 19, 2024; sons Joseph Allen Harper, Robert David Harper, and Adam Lee Harper; brothers Chuck and Jim; and sisters Ruth Hylton, Sis Preest, and Mary.
Joseph is survived by daughter Kristinna (Berlin) Stephens of Marion; grandchildren: Josephine “Missy” Harper, Crystal Dawn Harper, Adam Acord, Rochelle McCollum, Joseph “Buddy” Harper, Kevin Stephens, Seth Acord, and Savannah Stephens; 12 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Joseph last drove truck for Ryder PIE and was a graduate of Columbus State University. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. Joseph enjoyed activities with his wife such as flea markets, car rides out of state, and fishing. He was a Cincinnati Bengals fan and at one time raised livestock and did scrapping.
There will be no formal services and Affordable Cremation Services of Ohio is assisting the family with arrangements. Expressions of sympathy can be left at www.cremationservicesofohio.com and contributions in Joseph’s memory can be made to St. Jude’s’s Children’s Hospital.
