Joseph Robert Herrera

Joseph (Joey) Robert Herrera, a beloved son, brother, father, and grandfather, gained his angel wings to be with Our Lord and Savior on January 18, 2025, at the age of 60. Joey was born on November 1, 1964, in Las Vegas, New Mexico. His life was filled with smiles to all and a true sense of generosity, especially for those in need. Joey loved his family, friends, and the whole community. He was an avid hunter, golfer, pool player, and loved his trucks and cars and mud bogging. More recently, he loved just driving around and being outdoors, meeting up with friends, or just enjoying his morning drives to see the deer and elk.
Raised in Las Vegas, New Mexico, Joey graduated from Robertson High School in 1982. Joey was a member of many organizations and clubs during his lifetime. Still, the ones that he was well known for were Big Brothers-Big Sisters, Las Vegas City Council, and a Life Member of the Eagles, Knights of Columbus, and Help New Mexico, as well as an active member of his church.
Joey is survived by his parents, Henry and Sylvia Herrera, and sisters, Cassandra, and Jennifer Herrera. His three beautiful children, Gilbert Jo (Spouse Gabby) Candice Jo Herrera and JoeHenry Herrera. His beloved nieces and nephews, Amanda and Donovan Medina, Lauren Herrera and grandchildren, Dakota and Montana Garcia, and Nico Flores. Also, his half-sisters, Nancy, Patricia, & Regina, and special friends Robin Brito and Michelle Espinoza.
Funeral services will be held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic church in Las Vegas, NM. A rosary will be held on January 26th at 4:00 PM and the mass will be on the 27th at 9:00 AM. cremation will take place after and a private burial will be scheduled at a later date. Pallbearers will include, Gilbert Jo Garcia, Robert Romero, Paul Romero, Robin Brito, Kenny Lujan, Marvin Martinez, Gibo Ulibarri, and Donovan Medina.
