Joseph J. Jacksa, 67, of Woodridge, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. Surrounded by loved ones, he faced his illness with strength, dignity, and grace.
Born on February 24, 1958, in Joliet, Joe was known for his deep love for family, a devotion to his career, his love of music, travel, and passion for being on the water. He found great joy in boating at CECO, traveling with his wife and family to many wonderful places, and attending concerts & musicals. Joe was a big sports fan and enjoyed attending and watching many baseball, football & basketball games. He was also an active member of St. Margaret Mary Parish for many years participating in the Men's club and parish events.
Family was the center of Joe's world. He was a devoted husband to Mary (nee Stoyias), a proud father of Jessica (Steve) Carlevato, "Poppy" to Jackson & Cameron Carlevato, a devoted son to the late Joseph & Marcella Jacksa, a beloved brother to Judy (Roger) Kovack, JoAnn (Dave) Egizio & Jim (Kristen) Jacksa, uncle, cousin, and a friend to many. He will be missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to be made to Mayo Clinic or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Joe's honor.
A visitation will be held on August 27 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville to honor Joe's memory and the many lives he touched. Funeral services will begin on Thursday, August 28, at 10:15 am. at the funeral home and proceed to an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 1450 Green Trails Dr., Naperville.
