Joseph Raymond Jimenez

Joseph Raymond Jimenez passed away peacefully on August 18, 2025. He was born on January 9, 1945, in Alice, Texas, to Magdonio Jimenez and Andree Sigard.

After graduating from Alice High School, Joseph attended college at Texas A&I in Kingsville, where he earned a degree in Chemistry. He later moved to Houston and received a degree in Pharmacology from the University of Houston. Joseph began his career as a pharmacist in Corpus Christi, where he met his wife, Gloria. They married on December 30, 1972.

Joseph decided to continue his passion for learning and pursued a medical degree at the University of California, San Francisco, completing both medical school and residency in anesthesiology. After graduating in 1976, Joseph and Gloria moved back to Corpus Christi in 1979 where they raised their sons, Robert and Andy. A Board-Certified Anesthesiologist, Joseph held medical licenses in both California and Texas until 2017. He practiced with Gulf Shore Anesthesia until his retirement in 2014.

Beyond his dedication to medicine, Joseph had many passions. He loved music, exercise and travel. He bicycled across Texas, Colorado and California, climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro and traveled to South America several times. Most of all, he loved his family and friends. He treasured holiday gatherings, jazz music and laughing with his friends. Joseph was very proud of his family, often sharing their stories and pictures to anyone who would listen.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 32 years, Gloria Jimenez; his parents; his sisters Alice Breeland, Rose Jimenez and his brother, Lucian Jimenez.

Joseph is survived by his sister, Emilie Olivares, his sons, Robert (Erin) Jimenez and Andrew (Annette) Jimenez, his grandchildren Ethan, Alex, David and JR Jimenez.

Family and friends will begin gathering at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church (5830 Williams Drive, Corpus Christi, TX 78412) with a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Seaside Memorial Park (4357 Ocean Drive, Corpus Christi, TX 78412).

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Lone Star Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (1-800-Fight MS) or the National Leukemia Society.
