Joseph M. Kirwin

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Matthew Kirwin, 85, of Hawthorne, NY. Joe passed away on July 1, 2025. He started his career with the Metal Lathers Union #46 for 20 years. He was then the Head of Maintenance for the Holiday Inn, Yonkers, NY and retired in 2003. Joe enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family. Joe always put his family first and was always friendly to everyone he met. He is survived by his wife of over 62 years, Emily Kirwin, his daughter, Doreen Bentson (Michael), his grandchildren, Matthew (Emily), Mark (Julia), Nicole (Tyler), and great-granddaughter Brooklyn. Also, his sister Beverly Bolash (Florida), plus many nieces and nephews. His grandchildren were lucky to have him as he was the most encouraging and supportive grandfather you could ask for. He was a brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, a great friend to many and extraordinary in our eyes. The memories of his love and care will be cherished by his family forever. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery 10 West Steven's Avenue Valhalla, NY.
