Joseph A. Lancellotti, 66, of Keeseville, passed away peacefully in his home, after a long battle with cancer, under the loving care of his wife Teena, on June 16th, 2025.
He was born in Newark, NJ, on November 7, 1958, the son of the late Vincent and Lee (Caruso) Lancellotti. Joe held a Masters Degree in education and worked as a Special Education Teacher in NJ and NY for many years. He had a great sensitivity for the needs of his students.
Prior to becoming a teacher, Joe worked as a carpenter for 20 years in NJ. Joe was a lover of nature and a Horticulturist. He skillfully grew plants, fruits, vegetables and ornamentals. In his youth he managed a garden center in NJ and had a wealth of knowledge about gardening.
Joe loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He fished with his two brothers as a child and as an adult. As a lover of music, Joe sang and played the guitar. When he was young in NJ he played locally in a band called "US". After meeting and marrying his wife Teena, they began a Christian music ministry and played in local churches for 16 years.
Joe loved to make people laugh. One of Joe's cherished traits was his keen sense of humor that effortlessly brought joy and laughter to your day. His quick wit and comedic timing never failed to impress and his clever jokes brought humor, even in difficult situations. Joe maintained that wonderful sense of humor to the very end of his life.
Left to cherish the memory of Joe is his wife Teena (Douglas) Lancellotti, his daughter Danielle Lancellotti and grandchildren Dornan and Deryn, his daughter Cara Lancellotti, his daughter Nicole Moloney and son-in-law Sean Moloney and grandchildren Callan and Kieran Moloney, his step daughter Geena Shumway and step-granddaughter Aubrey Shumway, his brother Vincent Lancellotti and sister-in-law Gina Lancellotti, his brother Jim Lancellotti and sister-in-law Colleen Lancellotti and his sister Mary Krauze and brother-in-law Doug Krauze, and many nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Keeseville and a Memorial service with a meal will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 6065 Route 86, Wilmington, NY 12997 on Saturday, June 28th at 11:00 am. There will be an opportunity for friends and family to pay tribute to Joe at the service.
Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 124 Clinton Street, Keeseville, 518-834-7667.
