Joseph was born on June 19, 1962, in Camden, New Jersey. He was married to Rhonda Lang and was a proud father to Taylor and Jake Lang. Joseph was the son of William Joseph Lang Sr and Roberta Therese (Pinkston) Lang. His brother, William Joseph Lang Jr, preceded him in death. Joseph is survived by his twin brother Robert Lang and his wife Lora, Roberta Sullivan and husband Joe, as well as his sister-in-law Betty Jean Lang and a host of nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved.
Joe was larger than life, and his personality was contagious. He loved his family and friends deeply. He was a graduate of Cherry Hill West High School and earned a bachelors degree from Rutgers University. Joe began his career as a lifeguard on Wildwood Beach in New Jersey, famously known as the lifeguard pictured on the Salt Water Taffy box and postcard for Wildwood. He worked his way through college and began bartending in New Jersey and continued that career in various bars in the Delray Beach area. He talked often of his days behind the bar at Hoolihan's (WHO-LIH-HANS), making his famous drink, keoke (KEE OKEE) shooters. Joe was also a CPR instructor and began his career in 1992 as a paramedic/firefighter for the Delray Beach Fire Rescue Department. He was part of the department dive team and retired as a Driver Engineer in 2017 after 25 years of service. He had loads of energy and was always working out on his down time. He valued his health and fitness and didn't miss a chance to flex his muscles in a photo.
Joe enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to go diving, lobstering, and spearfishing with his son Jake in the Florida Keys or hiking with his daughter Taylor in the mountains of Maine. He was always dancing and singing. He loved music. He took every chance he could to listen to music and dance with his daughter in the kitchen after dinners. He also enjoyed the art of dining. His family will tell you they sat at the dinner table for hours drinking wine and discussing life. He loved to talk about the meaningful things in life. His favorite movies were Braveheart and V for Vendetta. Those who knew him most, remember that he would recite those movies by heart and in character while drinking his favorite beer, Guinness Stout.
Joe lived a life of humility and gratitude, cherishing the blessings of family, friends, and community. He was a man of deep Catholic faith and Joe's legacy is a testament to the power of hard work and service to others.
Joe's life will be celebrated with a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Thomas More Catholic Church in Boynton Beach, Florida, on June 27, 2023, at 10:00 AM. We will then gather to celebrate his life at Elk's Lodge, located at 265 NE 4th Ave Delray Beach, FL, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Joe was always so kind to me at the bank. I remember when I had my son back in 2011. I told Jo I have no idea where all the straps go. He would laugh and tell me to bring it he will help me. Jo would come install my car seat for me as I was a new mom who knew nothing about car seats . He did so for infant and toddler stages making sure it was well secured. I will miss you Jo and for your kindness most of all. My condolences to the entire family.

I bartended with Joe at City Limits in Delray Beach back in the late nineties. He was the best. We had so many great times, too many to choose just one. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.
