I posted on Ravelry a knitting project and Joe commented on it...I invited him to try the sock knitting races there...and he did. He also made some bowls as gifts for the Sock madness competiton. I tested his sock pattern. Joe was a welcoming friend and wonderful to know. I am so thankful that I had some time with him online. ...oh, and I have one of the bowls!

Joe was a competitve sock knitter and participated in the annual Sock Madness event for several years. He both loved to learn and loved to help others learn. His warm advice is missed this year.

Joe Lepscier was an adventurous soul and, in his years, had resided in more prestigious regions than many folk have ever had the opportunity to visit. Good fortune allowed me to join Joe and his bud's on many a road trip.
From the Great lakes and southern Illinois, to the Great Smokey Mountains, to the Rocky Mountains and west coast. Joe professed a worldly inspiration that overflowed with old soul wisdom and a comforting charm that could befriend just about anyone.
Just wish that I could take one more road trip with you Joe, we'd put Robin Trower in the cassette deck and chat until we reached, . . well. . wherever you wanna go.

When our parkway tree died Joe took a large branch home with him. I had no idea why. Several days later he came by with a beautiful wooded bowl.
I have a Joes Bowl! I will cherish it!!
