I spent two years with Cal at the University dorm. He was always a joy to be around and always volunteered to give me a ride home to Aurora on School vacations. I will never forget his excitement in the spring of 1966 when he announced that he has just joined the faculty at Aurora University. You would have thought he had hit two Grand Slams in the same baseball game. Malcom.Jones was my father's best friend, and I heard from Makcom how much the employees at the bank liked working for Cal. He was and is truly special@ George Arbeiter

I had the pleasure of working together with Cal at Aurora University, Merchants Bank and on Mercy Center's Board of Directors. He was a gentleman's gentleman with common sense, compassion and above all a wonderful sense of humor. An absolute joy to have as a friend, he will be missed by the whole community. Jan, Rosalie and I send our sincere condolences and offer this thought, "Let us not mourn the loss of the flame, rather let us remember how brightly it burned."

Cal was a dear friend and colleague. We worked and taught together at Aurora University and later at Merchants Bank. We also served on Mercy Center's board of directors. I found him to be a gentleman of integrity, common sense, and with a wonderful sense of humor in every capacity we served. He was truly a pillar of the Aurora community, and his like won't be found again soon. To his dear wife Jan, Rosalie and I send our most sincere condolences and leave you with this thought, "Let us not mourn the loss of the flame but remember how brightly it burned." Warmest wishes.
