Richard F. (Rich) Winckler passed away peacefully at home on July 14, 2024. He was born April 7, 1949 in Aurora, Illinois. He is the son of the late Frank and Doris Winckler.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Della; his daughters, Nicole Winckler, Diana Winckler, Michelle (Jim) Scanlan, and Christine Paluska; his three grandsons, Tommy, Jake, and Zach Stobart, and a large family of siblings, cousins, and devoted friends. Most of all, his beloved feline companion, Satin.
Rich was a 1967 graduate of Hinckley-Big Rock High School. He farmed immediately after high school with his brothers and father until 1981. He then successfully owned and operated his own trucking company until retirement in 2015.
Rich's passion was fishing and golfing with family, friends, and especially his grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Doris Winckler, and his brother, Gary.
A visitation will take place on Thursday, July 18, 2024 from 4 PM until 7 PM at The Healy Chapel Sugar Grove, 370 Division Dr., Sugar Grove, IL 60554. A graveside service will take place on Friday, July 19, 2024 at 11 AM at RIverside Cemetery, 414 N. RIver St., Montgomery, IL 60538.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed in Rich's memory to the American Cancer Society or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
