Brian T. Brophy, 41, of Aurora, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 8, 2025, surrounded by loved ones at Hinsdale Hospital. Born February 8, 1984, in Lisle, Brian was the beloved son of Timothy Brophy and the late Deborah (Newcomb) Kreger. A skilled carpenter for over five years, Brian took pride in his work and the care he put into everything he built. He had a deep love for sports, a loyal four-legged friend named Gizmo, and an even greater love for the people in his life. Known for his courage, generosity, and kind heart, Brian had a way of making everyone feel welcome and valued. Time spent with his family and friends was what he cherished most. Brian's memory will live on through his father Tim and stepmother Debra; sisters Melissa (Larry) Munch and Erin Hotchkin; brother Russell Brophy; stepbrother Matt Tallon; grandmother Betty Newcomb; nieces Taylor, Corinne, Ashlyn, and Elora; nephews Ethan, Kyle, and Tristan; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him dearly. He is reunited in heaven with his mother Deborah, grandfathers Henry Newcomb and Edward Brophy, grandmother Alyce Brophy, and brother-in-law Gunnar Hotchkin. Brian will be remembered not only for the things he built with his hands, but for the love, laughter, and kindness he built into the lives of all who knew him. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Brian's life on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway, Montgomery. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by burial at Lincoln Memorial Park in Aurora.
