Obituary of Joseph Eugene Looper
Joseph Eugene Looper, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on November 30, 2024, at the age of 67, following a brief illness. He was born on March 12, 1957, in Enid, Oklahoma, to the late Billy Gene and Joan Frances (Mercier) Looper. Joe lived many places all over the world throughout his life but his later years were spent living in Fort Worth, Texas.
Joe was a veteran of the United States Air Force and, most recently, a public servant in the US government. Joe loved fast cars, science fiction, and his adored Quaker parrots. Joe was known as a quiet man who was a friend to everyone, always embracing the opportunity to learn about others. He had a remarkable ability to find humor in even the most challenging situations, often quick with a joke that brought smiles to those around him. Joe cherished his family deeply and was happiest when spending time with them.
Joe was welcomed into heaven by his parents and his sisters, Evelyn and Cheryl, along with several family members and friends who have departed before him. A devoted family man, Joe is survived by his wife, Clarissa Looper, and his daughters, Sandy (Aaron) Singleton of Little Rock, Arkansas; Kylie (Adolfo) Leasure-Saavedra of Dallas, Texas; two grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of exteded family and very dear friends.
A celebration of Joe's life is being planned, reflecting the joy and laughter he brought into the world. In lieu of flowers, or if you wish, any donations can be made to the Glioblastoma Foundation in his memory. As an alternative, enjoy some time at the casino and savour a strawberry margarita in his honor.
