Joseph Lowe Obituary
Our beloved dad, grandfather (Poppy) Joseph D (Joe) Lowe, 86 passed away on Monday April 8th at Akron General Cleveland Clinic hospital in Akron, Ohio surrounded by his loving family.
Joe was born on September 19, 1937 in Pike County, Kentucky to the late Myrtha (Lowe) Skinner.
He was a loving devoted husband, father, and grandfather (Poppy), who loved his family dearly and was always there when anyone needed anything, all we had to do was call and he was there. He was always ready to go on a road trip or vacation. It was a tradition to go Black Friday shopping with his daughters, and loved taking his granddaughters Christmas shopping when they were old enough to go and would let them pick out presents for everyone. He never missed an event for his family and was supportive in every way. He was a big Nascar fan and held season tickets for the Daytona 500 and the night race in Bristol Tennessee in August. He enjoyed going with family and friends for many years. He also enjoyed boating, 4-wheeling, bowling and so much more.
He moved to Columbus Ohio after graduating from Belfry high school in Kentucky. He worked there for a couple of years before moving to Ravenna, Ohio. He worked at Chase bag in Chagrin Falls, before working at Container Corporation of America in Ravenna where he was a supervisor and retired in 1991.
He was proceeded in death by his wife of nearly 63 years, Rachel Lowe whom he married October 11, 1960, his son Joey Lowe and his mother, Myrtha (Lowe) Skinner.
Survived by his daughters Debbie (Scott) Anderson and Karen Murphy, grandchildren Taylor, Megan and Chelsey Anderson, Tonya (Matt) Beetler, Dawn (Alex) Edwards, Monica (Adam) Oldaker and Joella (Will) Landers, and great grandchildren Emily Edwards, Owen, Liam and Ella Beetler.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 15, 2024 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home from 4:00PM – 7:00PM and on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 from 11:00AM until time of funeral service 12:00PM Noon.
