Joseph Maggio Jr., of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on November 7, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on July 5, 1949, in New Orleans, Louisiana, he was a man of great charisma and warmth, whose presence brought joy to all who knew him.
Joseph, affectionately known as Joe to his loved ones, was the beloved son of the late Joseph Maggio Sr. and Marguerite Jacob Maggio. He shared a beautiful life with his wife of 48 years, Patti Maggio, and was a guiding light in the lives of his children, Marguerite Mae Robicheaux (Ryan) and Joseph Matthew Maggio (Shellie). His legacy continues through his adored grandchildren, Brooke Barletto (Zack), Trevor Kennedy (Erin), Nicholas Kinchen Jr., Elizabeth Kinchen, Joseph Maggio II, Hunter Maggio, Demi Maggio, and Coral Maggio, as well as his cherished great-grandchildren, Enison, Aiden, Dawson, Makinley, Evalyn, and Raeleigh. He also leaves behind his sister, Karen M. Maggio, and a host of extended family members. Joe's brother, Frank Maggio, preceded him in death.
An alumnus of Southeastern Louisiana University, Joe earned his Bachelor of Arts in 1971, which paved the way for his successful career as a salesman in the oil and gas industry. His professional life was marked by his integrity, dedication, and the deep respect he garnered from colleagues and clients alike.
Joe lived his life with the philosophy that there were no strangers, only friends he hadn't met yet. This belief was evident in the way he embraced every person he encountered, creating an extended family that spanned far beyond his kin. Joe's memory will continue to inspire and comfort those who were fortunate enough to have known him, and his laughter, stories, and the profound love he had for his family will resonate through generations, a testament to the remarkable man he was.
A celebration of Joe's life will take place at a later date to be determined. Memories and condolences may be expressed at www.AudubonFuneralHome.com

Yesterday

In Loving Memory of Joseph Maggio
It is with deep sorrow that I share the passing of my dear friend, Joseph Maggio. Joseph was a man of extraordinary kindness, unwavering cheerfulness, and profound devotion to his beloved wife and children. A true family man, he radiated warmth and generosity to everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Our friendship began at Saint Aloysius High School and continued through my time at Southeastern Louisiana University, forming a friendship that would last for decades. In the late 1970s, I had the joy of introducing my wife, Emily, to Joseph-a moment that marked the beginning of a cherished connection between them as well. Joseph welcomed Emily with the same warmth and sincerity that defined his character and their bond became another thread in the tapestry of our enduring friendship.
Through the years, Joseph remained a constant source of joy, wisdom, and support. His laughter was contagious, his spirit uplifting, and his presence a gift.
Joseph was loved by all who crossed his path. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those he touched, and his memory will continue to inspire us. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
Rest in peace, my friend. Thank you for the years of friendship, love, and light.
