Linda Anne Passero Heckler, a beacon of kindness and courage, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025, in Jefferson, Louisiana, at the age of 77. Born on March 7, 1948, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Linda's life was a testament to her selfless nature and unwavering Christian faith.
Linda, known affectionately to her friends and family as a woman who never had an unkind word to say about anyone, always wore a smile that could light up a room. She was a loving sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose wisdom and warmth will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Linda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James T. Heckler Sr.; her mother, Aurelia Passero; one sister, Patricia Hebert; and two brothers, Johnny Passero and Perry Gaffney.
Linda's legacy of love and compassion continues through her surviving family members. She leaves behind, to cherish her memory, her devoted sister, Mary Sue Johnson; brother-in-law, Harold; her cherished daughter, Beverly Muller (Dan); and her adored son, James "Jimmy" Heckler Jr. (Holly). Linda was also the proud grandmother of Ashley, Daniel, Devan, and Vivian Muller, and the doting great-grandmother of Nathan Muller. Her memory will also be treasured by a long line of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Throughout her life, Linda approached every interaction with a heart full of grace and a spirit of generosity. Her involvement in her community and work reflected her steadfast belief in treating everyone with respect and dignity. Linda's Christian faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and her outlook.
A lover of family gatherings, Linda always ensured her home was a place of joy and togetherness, echoing her belief that family was the most important treasure in life. She often imparted words of wisdom, reminding her loved ones, "Watch what you do and say - we live in the biggest, little town, and everyone knows everyone." Her advice to, "Always believe in yourself and don't worry what others think," will continue to resonate with all who were touched by her presence.
Linda's life was one of courage and selflessness, and she lived by the well-known words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Indeed, Linda's life was a resounding success, measured by the countless lives she touched with her friendliness and her unwavering support.
