MARK, Joseph Pierce - Age 95, of Flushing, passed away Monday, August 25, 2025. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, August 29, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. (The service will be live streamed and can be viewed via Joseph's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com). Burial in Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday from 12:00 PM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to Adopt-A-Pet, 13575 Fenton Road, Fenton, MI 48430.
Joseph was born June 19, 1930 in Flint, the son of Alexander and Laura (Foudry) Mark. He was a 1948 graduate of Mt. Morris High School. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Navy onboard the USS Repose; he also served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He married Jean Romanuik in 1973 in Flint and she preceded him in death March 15, 2020. He retired from GM Fisher Body Ternstedt on Coldwater Road after 33 years of service; he also did personal taxes for 40 years, for his friends and family. Joseph was a member of Calvary Christian Church in Swartz Creek for many years, serving as a Deacon and Treasury; he also traveled with the church, doing Missionary work. He also was a member of U.A.W. Local 326. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, bowling, woodworking and building things.
Surviving are: his sons, David Mark of Alabama and Scott Mark of Rose City; step-son, Jeff (Jill) Finch of Linden; step-daughter, Donna Finch of Flushing; 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Laura Mark; granddaughter, Hannah Finch; and brother, Alex Mark. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
