Joseph A. McInerney Jr. of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024 at the age of 80. Joe was born in New York City on March 27, 1944 to Joseph A. McInerney Sr. and Theresa McInerney. He graduated and received his degrees, including an M.B.A., from Rutgers University. Joe went on to work as a financial analyst with several years of corporate experience and later presided over his own company, where he assisted numerous local citizens, businesses, friends, and family members.
Joe was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many. Joe enjoyed attending church every Sunday with his wife and spending time with his family and friends. Joe, who was known for his outstanding work ethic, took great pride in the work that he did and treated many of his clients as extended members of his family. Joe enjoyed visiting his family on the east coast of Florida, where he would go to the beach and work in his down time. While home, he was known to enjoy relaxing in the sun any time that he got the opportunity. As an avid wine lover, Joe also liked to treat himself to a glass of wine from time to time. In addition to his success as a businessman, Joe will be remembered as an amazing family man. His steadfast determination, integrity, sense of humor, and quick-wit will be dearly missed by all.
Joe is survived by: his wife of over 60 years, Carol, daughter, Karen, son-in-law, Chris, brother, Marty, sister-in-law, Debbie, sister-in-law, Susan, grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Christopher, Dylan, and nieces, Lynn Williams, and Lisa Dewise. Joe was preceded in death by his son, Joseph G. McInerney.
