On October 10, 2025 Stephanie Lyn (nee Papa) of Mantua Twp, NJ beloved wife of Matthew passed peacefully at home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Loving Daughter of Alice and Anthony Papa. Loving Sister of Michele Papa and Alexandra Papa (Chris). As well as sisters-in-law BJ Fletcher (Joe), Dorothy Marshall (John), Karen Morrison (Bobby), and Janet Nakamura (Minoru). Stephanie was predeceased by her late husband, Robert Dehnhard. Stephanie grew up in Merchantville sharing a lifetime of happy memories including two of her best friends, Nell and Renee. While often quiet and reserved, Steph was also adventurous. She spent a summer backpacking through Europe and visiting relatives in Italy. Steph spent a summer in Puerto Rico living on a farm working agricultural fields. As nature lovers, Steph and Matt often scheduled vacations hiking our National Parks and enjoying their vast beauty. Together Steph and Matt designed and built their home in a wooded setting where she spent hours creating beautiful gardens, and observing a variety of bird species, deer and other wildlife in their own sanctuary. An alum of Rutgers University, Cook College, Stephanie graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. Steph remained close friends with her college roommates, Laura, Janet (Conrad), Laura and Nancy. As a dedicated environmental science advocate, Stephanie retired from her career as a scientist from the Federal Environmental Protection Agency to concentrate on her health and enjoy time with family and traveling to their home in the Florida Keys. Her co-worker and long-time friend, Roberta, was a constant source of help and support to both Steph and Matt, particularly over the past few years. Steph bravely and privately fought cancer and never complained. She meticulously followed all instructions from her amazing team at Penn Medicine and had the unwavering support and care from her loving husband, Matt. A scientist herself, Steph and her family were so grateful for the medicine and treatments that gave her years to make countless memories. Stephanie was a loving aunt to Erica Martin (Mike), Aubrey Bitner (John) and Kelsie Ramos (Bruce) and Great Aunt to Zoey, Annabelle, Weston, Adeline and Camila. Steph enjoyed family celebrations, "special days," cheering on the kids at their events and games and summers at the Jersey shore playing endless games, building forts and enjoying ice cream on the beach. She always loved to watch the kids on the boardwalk rides, and strolling around eating molasses paddles, salt water taffy, Mack's Pizza and Johnson's popcorn. Stephanie also enjoyed many events, concerts and family celebrations with Matt's extended family of over 20 nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
