Joseph Miller, age 68, of Marion, IL, passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 10:28 a.m. at his home.
He was born on March 14, 1957 in Herrin, IL to Ezra Lee and Theresa (Yannone) Miller, Sr.
Joe was graduate of Marion High School Class of 1975.
The son of business owners, it was only natural to follow in his family's footsteps. While his father was in the tire business in Herrin, his mother was in the jewelry business on Old Highway 13 west of Marion. Joe worked alongside his mother and stayed in the jewelry business his entire working career. He spent some years in the jewelry business in Temple, GA, but eventually moved back to Marion and owned and operated Miller's World Jewelers until his retirement.
Joe was of the Jehovah's Witness faith. He loved to read and study the Bible. He had a vibrant personality and was loved by many. Joe loved music of many genres and in his spare time he enjoyed playing the piano.
He is survived by his brother, Ezra Lee "Bucky" Miller, Jr. and his wife, Kathy, of Christopher, IL; step-son, Scottie Lee Mayfield of Marion, IL; his best friend, Denise Ponce of St. Charles, MO; nieces, nephews, other extended family members and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Toni Wild.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 North Court Street, Marion, IL 62959.
Per Joe's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
For those who prefer, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the "Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah's Witnesses of Marion." Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or may be mailed c/o Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 North Court Street, Marion, IL 62959.
