Joseph Nelson, Jr. was born July 15, 1948 to the late Joseph Nelson, Sr. and Albertha Collins-Williams in Barton, Louisiana. He transitioned on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 7:23 P.M. at Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center, Baton Rouge, Louisiana at the age of 76.
Visitation Wednesday, August 14 from 9:00 A.M. until religious service at 11:00 A.M. at the Emmanuel Baptist Church 2129 Highway 1 South Donaldsonville, Louisiana pastored by Rev. Charles Brown, Sr. Interment in the church cemetery.
Joseph Nelson, Jr. was affectionately known as "June" or "Joe". He worked for 18 years as a stocker at Economical Wholesale in Belle Rose, Louisiana.
Joseph's living spirit is carried on by his loving wife of 14 years Donna Landry- Nelson, (3) sons; Johnny Williams, Troy Williams (Ella), and Travis Joseph. His bonus children Kasey Falcon, Geriod Falcon, Carla Jacobs, Janice Rodriguez, and Juanita Rodrigue, (7) sisters Bernice August, Barbara Williams, Beverly Wright, Donna Emery, Rosalyn Smith (Larry), Janice Robinson (Bill), and Lucenda Nelson. (3) brothers Raymond Bernard, Demetrius Nelson, and Eric Nelson, (4) sisters in law Dianne Cross, Lisa Landry (Phillip Burgess), Jeannie Hayes, and Bernice Landry, (1) brother in law Randy Landry (Terry), (1) uncle Rush Collins, Jr (Vivian), (1) aunt Lou Ethel Collins, and (1) Godchild Kenneth August, Jr.
