Mr. Newman was born in Columbus, Georgia on November 9, 1939, son to the late Henry Morgan Newman and Mary Giglio Newman. He moved to Jacksonville in 1973 and retired as a Milkman from Velda Farms after working also with Skinners Dairy and Superior Diary. Mr. Newman was an avid golfer and played fast pitch softball for many years. He was a dedicated Alabama Crimson Tide and Atlanta Braves Fan.
Mr. Newman was preceded in death by his parents; sister: Bobbie Cumbie and a brother: Gary Newman. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary McCain Newman; 3 children: Lisa Reagor (Benny), Rusty Newman (Lisa) and Becky Hurtado (Marcus); sister: Celia Rich; brother: Ray Newman (Faye); 6 grandchildren: Kristin (Chris), Joey (Rebecca), Garrett (Breana), Ryan, Kyle and Zack; 3 great grandchildren: Conner, Colt and Whitley and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 14, 2025 at the Event Center at Peeples, 14165 N. Main Street (Building C) with Rev. Chris Coram, officiating.
Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
His family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
Peeples Family Funeral Home is serving the Newman Family.
