Joey was born at Cook County Hospital (Illinois) on September 2,1963. He lived in many places in life, but he always considered
Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to be his home. Joseph "Joey" Anthony Pratt-Nimo, II, passed away on February 25, 2023, at the age of 59 years old.
He is survived by his husband, Jerome "Jerry" Pratt-Nimo. Joey and Jerry were married on June 9, 1996, by Rev. Ted Berg and remarried on July 1, 2017, by Rev. Doug Haneline.
Joey was an avid lover of animals, whom he referred to as his children. He is survived by his dogs, Mittens and Tippy. He was preceded in death by George, Zach, and Dusty. He is also survived by his five sisters, Anna (Joe) McKinley, Fran (Brian) Foster, Cathy (the late Jim) Shepherd, Lynn (the late Donnie) Hammond, Karolyn (Brian) Fox; sisters-in-law, Jeanette (Dave) Carillo and Tiffany Pratt. Joe was blessed in life by his nieces and nephews, Carly, Brandon, Mandi, Bobby, Bethany, Danielle, Tim, Jimmy (Amanda), Chris, Billy Joe, Jennifer (Andrew), Stephanie, Donald Jr., Jerney, Hayden, Adam (Jessie), Amanda, Joey, Chrissy, and Cyle; great-nieces and great-nephews, Katelynn, Craig, Kaleb, Jack, Paige, Owen, Jimmy, Joseph, Troy, James, Elizabeth, Taryn, and Ysabelle; great-great-niece, Kendall; and great-great-nephew, Kreed.
Joey wanted to thank his dear friend, Taralee Hawkrigg-Brady and her daughter, Samantha Brady, Edward Brady, and Keionna Foard for their unwavering love and support. You were the family he chose to share the last years of his life with.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Joseph Anthony Nimo, Sr., and Alice Lorraine Nimo; in-laws, Donald Earl Pratt and Cecelia Louise Pratt-Gard; and great-niece, Dalany Marie.
Joey and Jerry were proud to consider Jake Overla as their adopted son. Joey loved him very much.
Joey was a truck driver for more than 23 years, finishing his career with ISI, Inc., in Kokomo in 2017. The previous owner of ISI, Mike Taylor, is someone whom Joe was proud to have known. Joey gave selflessly throughout his life, always putting the needs of others before himself. He volunteered with the Milwaukee AIDS Project in the late '90s, helping to raise awareness and promote education. To the many friends who joined him on his journey, please know that he always carried the memories you shared with him.

The family will receive visitors from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, March 3, 2023, at Integrity Cremation and Funeral Care, 2901 S. Washington St., Marion IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a funeral service will begin at 7:00 pm with Rev. Doug Haneline officiating.
A graveside service will take place at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Warnock Cemetery, 48028 Warnock Glencoe Rd., Belmont, OH 43718.
If you will be attending either service, please dress the way that Joey knew you in life.
If you choose to send flowers, please no baby's breath. Joey didn't care for it.
