Joseph Dewey Nooth, 75, of New Bedford passed away Wednesday August 9, 2023 at St. Luke's Hospital after a period of declining health. He was the widower of Catherine Cooper Nooth.
Joe was predeceased by his parents, Wendell Philip Nooth and Marianna (Drummond) Nooth, his daughter April Lee Nooth and his only sister Nancy Ann Nooth. He is survived by his son Edward Nooth (Bernice Braley), three stepchildren, Scott Cooper, David Cooper, and Wendy Tilley, two granddaughters Teesha Nooth and Tameeka Ellis, and four great-grandchildren, Trinity, Tia, Teegan, and Triston. He is also survived by his four brothers and their families, Wendell Philip Nooth, Jr. (Betty Jeanne), James Nooth (Lorraine), Timothy Nooth (Diane), and Mark Nooth (Debra).
Joe was a graduate of New Bedford High School and attended Bristol Community College. He worked for many years at the Acushnet Company in the Rubber Division until his retirement.
Throughout his life he was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots, loving to sport their latest gear. He also enjoyed his forays to Foxwoods to try his luck.
A gathering of friends and family will take place on Tuesday, August 15th from 10 AM-12 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, with his funeral service following at 12 PM.
