Joseph E. O'Donnell

Joseph Edward O'Donnell Jr., passed away on July 11th, 2024 at the age of 71 in Hopewell, NJ surrounded by his family. Born on September 30th, 1952 in Jersey City, NJ, Joe was known for his generous spirit.
Nothing mattered more to Joe than family and great friendships. Whether it was during weekends at the shore house or gatherings at home by the pool, he always enjoyed spending time, sharing stories and laughs with loved ones (and Joe's telling of old stories often created the most laughter). Joe's love of his family shone through by opening his home to all kinds of family events. All who knew him best would agree that Joe could have a gruff, no-nonsense, old-school exterior which served him well in becoming a success in the tire industry. Yet beneath it all, he had a giant heart with a softer, emotional side. He cared deeply for those he loved and he showed it when it mattered most. Joe was the family patriarch whose boundless generosity, guidance, support and love will be his legacy.
Professionally, Joe was a respected entrepreneur, owning 4 successful businesses throughout his career. His most recent venture was Champion Tire in Ringoes, NJ.
In his younger years, Joe had a passion for auto racing and spent many weekends at the Flemington Speedway. Joe spent most Sundays rooting for his favorite football team, the Chicago Bears.
Joe leaves behind his loving wife, Diane, his children, Heather (Jeff), Joe (Jamie), Dayna (Michael), Derek (Suzanne), Kelly (Cristian), along with 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, sisters Eileen and Peg and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life for Joe will be held at Beck-Givnish Life Celebration Home, 7400 New Falls Road, Levittown, PA 19055, with visitation on Friday, July 19, 2024 from 6pm-9pm and Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 10am-12pm. A memorial blessing will follow at 12pm on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
