Joseph Peralta Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rogers Mortuary - Las Vegas on Mar. 31, 2026.
It is with deep sorrow and boundless love that we announce the passing of a beloved son, brother, and uncle. Joseph Abelino Peralta was carried home to the Lord on the wings of angels on March 22, 2026. He was born on March 14, 1992, in Las Vegas, NM and was raised in Ocate, NM by his mother Josie Peralta.

He graduated from Wagon Mound High School and later joined the U.S. Army. After honorably serving his country, he obtained his CDL and began working as a truck driver. He worked for various trucking companies, but his most recent was being a logger. Driving countless miles in unpredictable weather to drop off a load of logs was just a hint of his venturesome personality. He was a man of many talents, including carpentry, landscaping, and mechanics.

Throughout his life, Joseph was known for his sharp mind, generous heart, and dedication. He pushed himself to the best of his abilities towards anything he was looking to accomplish. He served his country with great honor and always wore his uniform with pride, courage and commitment. He carried the meaning of sacrifice with him wherever he went, always making sure to lend a helping hand when he could, or share wise advice.

As the oldest sibling of his family, he was the source of guidance and protection. Joseph cherished time with his family. He enjoyed long conversations with his mother, wrestling and adventures with his brothers, teaching his sisters his chef-like skills and of course making sure we would have something to laugh about. His heart melting grin, and charismatic aura are few of his many adoring attributes that will be constant reminders that he enriched the lives of all who knew him.

Joseph had the gentleness of a dove for those he loved, the integrity of a righteous man, and he served his Lord with devotion. Though he has gone to his eternal resting place, his love, legacy and memory will continue to be a guiding light for his family.

"Your memory is a keepsake from which we will never part; God has you in His keeping, we have you in our hearts."

Joseph is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Abelino Peralta and Cleo Peralta, his uncle Celestino Branchal, his nephew Brandon Vigil and his stepfather Orlando Trujillo.

He is survived by his mother Josie Peralta, his sisters Darlene Trujillo (William), Charlene Trujillo (Dwyane), Julia Trujillo (Brady) and Gabriella Trujillo, his brothers Geraldo Trujillo (Mikayla), Jessie Peralta (Cristal) and Robert Trujillo, his nieces Aria and Joslyn Hayoz, Alianna Jade Vigil, and Griselda Peralta, his nephews Martin and Andy Quintana and Mateo Peralta. He is also survived by his Godparents Fernando Branchal and Pita Trujillo, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.

Serving as urn- bearers are Josie Peralta, Robert Truijillo, Jessie Peralta and Geraldo Trujillo. Honorary urn- bearers include Willam, Dwayne, Brady, Darlene Truillo, Charlene Trujillo, Julia Trujillo and Gabriella Trujillo.

Rosary services will be held on Thursday, April 9th, 2026, at 6:00 pm at the Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe Church in Ocate, NM. Funeral Mass will be conducted Friday April 10th at 11:00 am at the Nuestra Senora de Gaudalupe Church in Ocate, NM. Interment will follow at the Trujillo Cemetery.

Arrangements are entrusted to and under the care of Rogers Mortuary, 600 Reynolds Avenue, Las Vegas, NM 87701. 505-425-3511.
