Joseph P. Perillo, 74, of Amsterdam, NY, passed away on February 28, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Born on December 20, 1950, in Amsterdam, NY, he was the son of the late John S. Perillo and Nancy A. Matranza Perillo.
Joe was a proud graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch Senior High School in Amsterdam, NY, and Fulton Montgomery Community College in Johnstown, NY. He served in the New York Army National Guard and was actively involved in several car clubs throughout his life.
After a successful career, Joe retired as Vice President of Global Technology and Operations at MetLife, where he made significant contributions to the company.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 54 years, Mary “Diane” Nowak Perillo; his son, Jason (Maria) Perillo; his daughter, Melissa Martuscello; his cherished grandchildren, Michael Perillo, Joey Perillo, Lauren Martuscello, Olivia Martuscello, and Luke Martuscello; his brothers, Salvatore J. (Liz) Perillo and Thomas F. Perillo; sister-in-law, Christine Pasquarelli (Jim Blaise) ; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Sandy Perillo.
In honoring Joe’s wishes, services will be private, with inurnment to follow at the Holy Cross Memorial Columbarium, St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Amsterdam.
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Joe’s name to the Montgomery County Office for Aging,135 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010, or the Montgomery County SPCA, 1232 NY 5S, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
