Joseph Eugene Pilcik was born on November 27, 1939, to Joseph John Pilcik and Adella Zurek Pilcik in Sealy, Texas. He was the oldest of three children – his brother, Gerald Pilcik, and sister, Judy Viaclovsky. Joe's early education began at Guardian Angel School in Wallis, Texas in 1945, followed by a one-year term at Bernard Prairie School before the family moved back to Wallis. When Joe returned to Guardian Angel School, he began taking piano lessons from Sister Mary Basil and soon discovered his love for music. One of his most proud moments as a child was being 8 years old and getting to play "the big organ" at morning church services, only achieved by sitting on Sister Mary Basil's lap so he could play the keys while she pumped the organ. He later attended Wallis High School, where he enrolled in as many activities as possible, including sports, agriculture, and boy scouts. Joe was very proud of his scout accomplishments, where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout and the Order of the Arrow. Joe attended two years at Wharton County Junior College before beginning his career of 46 years with Maxwell House Coffee.
While attending Wharton County Junior College, Joe met Georgie Brasher, the love of his life, and they were soon married on October 1, 1960, in Eagle Lake. They moved to Katy and were blessed with 4 wonderful children, 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. They shared a love for fishing, music, family, and spending time at their bay house in Sargent. Joe had a special love and appreciation for racing and building cars, tinkering, re-engineering, and building things from scratch, gardening and anything outdoors.
Joe is survived by his brother Gerald and sister Judy, and his children, Diana Stoelke and husband Mike, Michael Pilcik and wife Teresa, Kathy Cincotta and husband George, and Karon Salsman. He leaves behind six grandchildren, Tony Cincotta and wife Chelsie, Jessica Tanner and husband Eric, Cassie Campbell and husband Jarrett, Logan Stoelke, Kalyn Salsman and husband Ashton, and Gabe Cincotta, along with great grandkids, Tatum, Tomi, Hunter, Wyatt, Dylan, Emmy, Brooks, and Cash. Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph John Pilcik and Adella Zurek Pilcik, brother-in-law Louis Viaclovsky, son-in-law Danny K Salsman, and wife of 64 years, Georgie Pilcik.
