Joseph Patrick Quilty, 94, of Whiting New Jersey passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025. Affectionately known to all as "Joe" and to his grandchildren and great grandchildren as "Gransha."
Joe was born and raised in Waterford, Ireland. He was a sailor in the British Merchant Navy and always loved the sea. He met his wife, Amelia, "Milly," and they were married on March 24, 1956. After they were wed, they immigrated to the United States of America and started their family. Joe and Milly lived in Verona, NJ. Joe worked in the food industry for most of his adult life. He was very proud to be able to serve the public in the way that he did. He worked in places like Pal's Cabin, The Manor, Gabe's Galley, multiple restaurants in New York City, and his last job was at Mountain Ridge Country Club before his retirement in 1996. Joe retired with Milly and moved to Whiting, NJ where they enjoyed a full, busy life. Joe was an avid lover of coffee, golf, and an active member of the community at Pine Ridge South.
Joe has been reunited in Heaven with his eldest daughter, Patricia, as well as his parents and 8 of his brothers and sisters. He will forever be held in the hearts and memories of his loving wife, Milly, his eldest son Paul and his partner Willow, son Timothy and daughter in law Lisa, and daughter Julie, his granddaughter Meeghan and her husband Bobby, grandsons Brian and Michael, and his great granddaughters Feyre and Novie, along with his brother Jimmy, and many nieces, nephews, and other family spread across Ireland, Wales, and throughout the world.
