Joseph Reilly Obituary
A proud teacher at Hamilton High School, Joe led his team to both city and state championships in soccer–victories he recounted fondly for decades.
Early in life, he briefly trained in seminary before discovering his natural passion for teaching. Joe spent much of his career in Milwaukee Public Schools, where he taught US government and history as well as English and inspired countless students and fellow teachers alike.
Joe enjoyed researching his genealogy as he was always eager to understand his Irish heritage and the stories that shaped him. He spent many good hours playing cards with friends, sharing laughs, and enjoying friendly spars on the Big Bend town board. In later years, Joe found joy in feline companions and video games, embracing them with the same enthusiasm he brought to everything he did.
Joe is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Kathryn "Kathy" Reilly, and his daughter, Nora Hill. Joe appreciated the quiet pleasures of life and found contentment in everyday moments.
He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him, and we are happy knowing he is now reunited with his beloved brother, Michael Reilly.
Visitation 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM at Krause Funeral Home, 9000 West Capitol Drive, Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, followed by a service at 1:00 PM. Interment at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
