I used to go to Buster´s with my dad, John Moore, and grew fond of bluegrass because of Buster and Joey. To be honest, if it wasn´t for Buster teaching my father, I don´t know that I would be a guitar player. I used to love to see Joey´s animated faces when he would pick on the mandolin. Joey came to honor my father when he passed. He was a good man and I always looked up to him as a kid. I´ll keep the light on for the men like Buster, Joey, and my dad who taught me about music and making the most out of what life gives us.

I´ll keep the strings ringing until we can all circle up in the sky.

Joey was my first musical partner. Back in the 1970's we played together at PJ's Tavern in Grapeville, Pa. We became Facebook friends after many many years. RIP buddy.

I am sorry to hear about Joe's passing. We had many wonderful conversations about our family connections and music over the years. Joe was a very congenial person and talented musician! He will be greatly missed. My sympathy to the Rhodes family.
