Joseph Alan Roberts, 76, of Portage, passed away on October 28, 2024 at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo. Joseph was born on November 4, 1947 in Kalamazoo, MI the son of William and Mary (Tabbia) Roberts. Joseph was a graduate of Hackett High School. He enjoyed traveling, watching sports and reading books. He retired from the railroad where he worked as a conductor and a brakeman.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Roberts; two sisters: Barbara Beckwith and Helen Roberts and two Brothers: John and Charles Roberts.
Joseph is survived by his son, Michael Roberts; a daughter, Christine (John) Udvardy; two step daughters: Ronda Hamilton and Renee Johnson; three brothers: Fred, James and Paul (Becky) Roberts; two sisters: Kathy (Robert) Kaminga and Margaret (Ray) Williams and two grandchildren: Tasha and Stewart Udvardy and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at St. Ambrose Catholic church from 12 Noon until 1:00 PM where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM with Monsignor Michael Hazard as Celebrant. Interment will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the community building at St. Ambrose Catholic Church following interment. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
