Joseph A. Scott of Independence Township, PA was born on September 10, 1957, passed away peacefully at his residence on February 21, 2025 at the age of 67. He was the son of Joseph Scott (deceased) and Jane Favand and stepson of Gene Marvin (deceased). He will be profoundly missed by his family and friends.

A devoted husband and father, Joe married Shari Kriest on June 28, 1986. His legacy lives on through his two beloved children, Katelyn (Stephen) Ruttenberg, their soon to be first child, and Tyler “Ralph”(Amber) Scott, who carry forward the values of family and integrity he cherished.

Joe is also survived by his siblings: Theresa (William) Boschele, Mark (Denise) Scott, and Eric (Annmarie) Scott, and step-siblings: the late Johnna Dangle, Shelly (Stephen) Carpenter, and Michael (Kathleen) Marvin as well as his many nieces and nephews.

Joe was a graduate of Hopewell High School, Class of 1976. He was employed at Kravitch Machine Shop in Aliquippa for many years until his passing. Prior to Kravitch he worked for various air and freight companies at the Pittsburgh International Airport.

Joe found passion and joy in his many hobbies and interests. Among collecting antiques and taking spontaneous family road trips, he was always eager to explore new places and loved bartering to get a great deal. As an avid outdoorsman, he took great joy in fishing and hunting, often finding solace in nature. His love for his pets was evident in his affection for his dogs, Daisy Mae and Bosco, who were always there to greet him after a hard days work.

Visitation will be held at Graff-Nation Funeral and Cremation Services in McDonald, PA. on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will commence on February 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM, concluding his journey surrounded by loved ones.

Joe’s warmth, kindness, and humor will be remembered by all who knew him. His spirit will continue to shine through the memories shared by family and friends, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of many.
