Most sincere condolences to the Vernillo family. I was John´s roommate and running mate at Allegheny College. They called us the dynamic duo! I have great memories of him and the times we spent together playing ball, chess, pin ball, harassing our Keystone cop security guards, all in good fun. He was an excellent athlete and one of the nicest persons I ever met. We became friends immediately and stayed in touch throughout these many years. I wish we lived closer so We could have seen each other often but we were both busy raising families and pursuing careers. Jan is a wife that any man could only wish for; he was fortunate to have her to keep him focused! The two of them raised a beautiful family who my heart goes out to at this difficult time. My prayers are with you all.

Jan and family,
You have my deepest sympathy. I was so sorry to hear about John. I went to school with you and John and you were the sweetest couple. I know he will be missed by all who knew him. Cathi Furda

I went to grade school, junior high and high school playing football with John. He was an excellent player as a running back, and you could count on him when it was 3rd and long , because he would come through. My condolences to Jan and his family.
