Joseph John Sensale, of North Haven, died on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Yale New Haven Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Jo-Ann R. Aldino Sensale.
Joseph was born in New Haven on March 3, 1938, a son of the late John and Madeline Vastarelli Sensale.
Joe graduated from St. Michael's Grammar School. He graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1955. He graduated from Providence College in 1959. He graduated from Boston University School of Law in 1962. He practiced law in New Haven County for fifty-eight years. He served in the United States Army at Fort Knox KY from 1962-1964, leaving military service as a captain.
Joe was a proud member of the Amity Club, the New Haven County Bar Association and a former member of the Q Club. He loved listening to and attending the opera and raising his English bulldogs. He was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and NY Giants. He traveled to Italy numerous times and always enjoyed and celebrated Italian culture and traditions. He loved good restaurants, reading, classic cars, and maritime history.
Joe was the father of Michele Sensale (James Hall) and Robert Sensale (Jessica Hayton), stepfather of Eric Litchfield, and brother of Andrew Sensale. He is also survived by his first wife Dolores Amore Sensale.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Drs. Gilmore and Beekman as well as the staff at the Yale Neuroscience ICU for the care and attention given to our father in recent weeks. We are eternally grateful for your kindness and compassion.
