Joseph N. Stankiewicz

Joseph Stankiewicz passed away January 6, 2026. He was born on September 11, 1957, in Baltimore, Maryland. He was a long time Lorain County resident and graduated from Avon High School with the class of 1975. Joe attended Lorain County Community College, receiving an Associate Degree in Electronics then transferred to The Ohio State University. Unfortunately, his dreams and ambitions were then cut short due to mental illness.

Joe worked for American Growers greenhouse and Fitch's Farm market throughout high school and during college he had an internship with Bendix Corporation. Although, his most memorable job was as a sound engineer for The Variety Kings band.

His sense of humor will be missed by surviving relatives Kathleen Keefer (Jeff), Stephen Stankiewicz (Irene), and Michelle Wimmer (Ron). Nieces and nephews Stephanie Briggs (Jon), Bryan Wimmer (Katie), Andrew Wimmer, Matthew Stankiewicz (Candice), and Rose McArthur (Byron). Great niece and nephews Jack, Patrick, and Ellie Briggs, as well as Oliver McArthur and many other relatives.

Beloved son of the late Norbert and Helen Stankiewicz.

We would like to thank Joe's lifelong friends Frank, Dave, and Tim for their companionship and Lake Point Health Center Staff, Lorain Ohio, and Suncrest Hospice – Cleveland for their care.

The family welcomes friends to join them on Saturday January 31, 2026, from 10am to 12pm, Services with Scripture and prayers with Rev. Mark Telepak at 12 p.m. at Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd, North Ridgeville, Ohio. Private Immediate family burial to follow at Elmhurst Park Cemetery (St. Joseph Cemetery) Avon, Ohio.
