Joseph E. Thomas II, age 67, passed away on July 4, 2024. Born on July 3, 1957, in Greenville, SC, & was the son of Dr. Charles Brannon Thomas, Sr. & Virginia Mason Thomas McLean. As a Greenville native, he was a graduate of JL Mann High School in 1975 & went on to graduate from Newberry College in 1983.
Joe's life was marked by his generous spirit and his unwavering commitment to his family. He is survived by his partner in life, Jodi, with whom he shared countless cherished moments. His legacy continues through his children, Lauren Ann Thomas, Joseph Emerson Thomas III, and Anderson Thomas Grout (Marcus), as well as his stepdaughter, Jackie Baker Belding (Drew), & granddaughter, June Lee Belding.
As we bid farewell to Joseph E. Thomas II, we celebrate a life well-lived— his spirit will forever be a guiding light for his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have been a part of his journey.
The family will receive visitors at the home of his daughter, 302 North Avenue, Greer, SC, on Friday, July 12, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the Mount Calvary Presbyterian Church at 1399 Walnut Grove Road, Roebuck, SC on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the CJD Foundation, 3634 West Market Street Unit 110, Akron, OH 44333.
