Joseph Tobias Obituary
Passed away, peacefully, at their Tillsonburg residence, 67 years of marriage concluded with dignity, following Joe's battle with stage 4 cancer and Audrey's ongoing battle with dementia, on July 9th, 2023. Joe was born in Tillsonburg, to the late Frank and Theresa (Mayer) Tobias. Audrey was born in Dereham Township, to the late Clair and Emma (Slaght) Esseltine. Together they were member of St. Paul's United Church, Tillsonburg and longtime original residents of James Avenue, Tillsonburg. Lovingly remembered by their much-loved son Kris Tobias, of Tillsonburg and their caring granddaughter Kaylee Tobias, of Toronto. Also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by their son David Paul Tobias (April 14, 2021). Audrey is survived by a sister Jackie (John) Wood and is predeceased by 3 other sisters. Joe is predeceased by his brother Frank.
In keeping with Joe and Audrey's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will be held in the Tillsonburg Cemetery. Friends, neighbours, and relatives are invited to share favourite memories, photos, express personal condolences or contribute memorial donations to "St. Paul's United Church" via Joe or Audrey's online tribute pages at www.verhoevefuneralhomes.com or by contacting the Maurice J. Verhoeve Funeral Homes, Tillsonburg (519)842-4238.

Very many fond memories of get togethers when we were in Tillsonburg. Sending all our love and prayers to Kris and Kaylee. So sorry for your loss.
