Joseph Antonio Torres, 20, of Fircrest, Washington, passed away on October 17, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on November 24, 2004, in Tacoma, Joseph grew up with a spirit full of warmth, kindness, and quiet strength that touched everyone who knew him.
A 2022 graduate of Tacoma School of the Arts high school, Joseph was a dedicated student who balanced his academics with his love for baseball, photography, and spending time with friends and family. Though a bit shy at first, those fortunate enough to know him well discovered a thoughtful, loving young man whose humor and sincerity brightened the lives around him.
At the time of his passing, Joseph was enrolled at Tacoma Community College, continuing to explore his passions and preparing for the next chapter of his life. His journey was marked by remarkable courage after being diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2018-a challenge he faced with unwavering grace and resilience.
Joseph's community spirit was evident through his years as a Boy Scout and through his connection to The Make-A-Wish Foundation. Having been a Make-A-Wish kid himself, he deeply valued the organization's impact on children facing illness, often expressing how it brought light and hope during difficult times.
He is lovingly survived by his parents, Terri and Martin Torres; his sisters, Linda Dinora and Rosalinda; and his grandmother, Shirley Howard. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Donald Howard, Terry Robinson, Maria Leyva, and Alberto Torres.
Joseph's family and friends will forever cherish his gentle heart, thoughtful nature, and love that will continue to inspire.
As a reflection of his life and the love he shared, his family wishes to close with a cherished poem-*A Child of Mine*, a reminder of the precious, fleeting gift that Joseph was to all who knew him.
